蠲除（决玄反孔注尚書蠲潔也郭注方言蠲亦降也說文從蜀益聲會意字在䖝部也益正益字也）。

蠲除 (fanqie: 决 + 玄; Kong's commentary on the Shangshu says: "蠲 means clean." Guo's commentary on the Fangyan says: "蠲 also means to dispense with/descend." The Shuowen says: "It is classified under 蜀 and takes 益 as phonetic." It is an associative compound classified in the insect (虫) section. 益 is the proper character for 益).
