䴏麥（上鷰見反案鷰麥者草名也似麥而非麥也苗瘦而無實如禾有莠如稻有稗之類也說文從鳥燕聲也）。

Wild oat (䴏麥: the first [character] is yan-jian fan. In our view, wild oat [yanmai] is the name of a plant. It resembles wheat but is not wheat; its shoots are thin and yield no grain, just as grain has weeds or paddy has tares. The Shuowen jiezi says it derives from radical 'bird' [鳥] with 燕 as phonetic).
