喜愕（五各反俗字也考聲愕驚也韻詮懼也說文正體從[前-刖+(┴*├)]作[愣-方+(前-刖+(┴*├))]從心從吅從[前-刖+(┴*├)][咒-几+(前-刖+(┴*├))]亦聲也經從丐非也）。

Pleasantly startled (喜愕: [愕 is] wu-ge fan, a vulgar character; the Kaosheng says: "愕 means startled." The Yunquan says: "Afraid." The standard form in the Shuowen jiezi is written as [愣-方+(前-刖+(┴*├))], deriving from radical 'mind' [心], 吅, and [前-刖+(┴*├)], with [咒-几+(前-刖+(┴*├))] also as phonetic. In the sūtra it derives from 丐, which is incorrect).
