以索亡珠（所革反俗字也正作𣑇方言索取也借音字也本音桑洛反今不取說文云草木有莖葉可為繩索故從[山/小]普末反從糸象形字也今隷書通作索變體書也）。

以索亡珠 (fanqie 所革 [suǒ]; a popular character, properly written as 𣑇; Fangyan: "索 means to search for, obtain; a borrowed phonetic character; its original pronunciation is the fanqie 桑洛 [suò], which is not adopted here; Shuowen jiezi: "Plants whose stems and leaves can be made into ropes [索]; hence classified under [山/小] [pronounced with the fanqie 普末, pō] and radical 糸; a pictographic character"; nowadays in clerical script it is universally written as 索, which is a variant form).
