迫愶（杴業反尚書云殲厥渠魁愶從罔治顧野王云以威力相恐愶也劉兆注公羊傳云畏迫也賈注國語云愶劫也廣雅怯也聲類附也韻詮近也韻英急也古今正字從心脅聲經文多單作脅肚兩旁也非此義又從三刀從月並非也不成字正從三力從肉也）。

迫愶 [Coerced and intimidated]: Read with the fanqie 杴 [xi-] + 業 [-è] (xiè). The Book of Documents says: 'Exterminate their ringleaders, and do not punish those who were coerced to follow.' Gu Yewang says: 'To frighten and intimidate with authority and power.' Liu Zhao's Commentary on the Gongyang zhuan says: 'Terrified and coerced.' Jia's Commentary on the Guoyu says: '愶 means to劫 (plunder/coerce).' The Guangya says: 'Cowardly.' The Shenglei says: 'To attach.' The Yunquan says: 'Near.' The Yunying says: 'Urgent.' The Gujin zhengzi says: 'Formed from 心 (heart) with 脅 acting as phonetic.' The scripture often writes simply 脅, which means the two sides of the belly, not this meaning; writing it with three knives (刀) or with 月 are both incorrect and do not form characters; properly it is formed from three 󰃏 (forces/powers) with 肉 (flesh).
