災橫（上宰來反左傳天反時為灾白虎通云災之言傷也說文作𡿧𡿧害也從一壅巛或從火作災經作灾俗字也）。

Calamities and misfortunes (the upper character is [pronounced with the fanqie] 宰 + 來. The Zuo zhuan says: 'When Heaven acts contrary to the seasons, it is a zai (disaster).' The Baihu tong says: 'Zai speaks of injury.' The Shuowen writes it as 𡿧: '𡿧 means harm; it takes the one radical blocking the river radical (chuan).' Alternatively, it takes the fire radical as 災. In the sūtra it is written as 灾, a vulgar graph).
