剡魔王（上焰染反唐云探惡勝業或名可怖畏亦名深能靜息或云平等次後地藏菩薩陀羅尼經中本為是古譯或有音旨不切用字乖僻今有自受持梵本因修音義依文再譯識梵文者請挍勘前後二譯方知疎密真言曰）。

King Yama (the upper character is [pronounced with the fanqie] 焰 + 染. In the Tang language one says 'investigating evil and supreme karma'; it is also called 'the fearful one,' or 'deeply capable of tranquil extinction,' or 'the impartial one.' Next, the Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva Dhāraṇī Sūtra below was originally an ancient translation, in which some phonetic pronunciations were inaccurate and the characters used were aberrant. Now, possessing a personally received Sanskrit manuscript, I have retranslated it according to the text in compiling this glossary of sounds and meanings. Those who know the Sanskrit language, please collate and compare the two translations before and after; only then will you know their looseness and precision. The mantra says:).
