鶡鴨（胡葛反似雉鬪死乃止故武士戴冠以象之也山海經云輝諸之山多鶡鷄以其尾臿頭也亦出上黨郡下音押水鳥也）。

鶡鴨 (fanqie: 胡葛. It resembles a pheasant and fights until death; therefore warriors wore caps adorned with it as a symbol. The Shanhaijing says: 'Mount Huizhu has many crossoptilon pheasants (鶡鷄), whose tails are inserted into headdresses.' They also come from Shangdang Commandery. The lower character is pronounced 押; it is a waterfowl).
