險壙（上杴撿反考聲云險阻也危也從阜僉聲下苦晃反孔注尚書云曠空也蒼頡篇云光也疏曠也廣雅大也從土廣聲有從日亦通）。

Dangerous and vast (險壙: the upper character is with the fanqie of 杴 and 撿. The Kaosheng states: "Precipitous and obstructed; perilous. With the radical 阜 and 僉 as phonetic." The lower character is with the fanqie of 苦 and 晃. Kong's commentary on the Shangshu states: "壙 means empty." The Cangjiepian states: "Bright; open and expansive." The Guangya says: "Vast. With the radical 土 and 廣 as phonetic. Those written with the radical 日 are also acceptable").
