竊作（七結反考聲云私取也說文云盜自中出也從穴從二十從米卨聲也今順俗從省去二十二十音疾卨音薛也）。
竊作 (qī + jié [qiè]. Kaosheng says: 'To take secretly.' Shuowen says: 'Thieves emerging from within. Derived from 穴 (cave), 廿 (twenty), and 米 (rice), with 卨 as phonetic.' Nowadays, following vulgar usage, it is written in abbreviated form without the 廿. 廿 is pronounced jí; 卨 is pronounced xiè).
