蘆葦（上魯都反下萎爾雅葭蘆也郭景純曰蘆即葦之瘦惡者顧野王曰葦大葭也蘆之類也說文從草從皿𧆨聲也韋亦聲也𧆨音魯都反從虎從𠙽𠙽音苦外反）。

蘆葦 (The upper character is pronounced 魯 + 都 [*lú*]; the lower is 萎 [*wěi*]. The *Erya* says: '葭 are 蘆.' Guo Jingchun says: '蘆 is a thinner, inferior kind of reed (葦).' Gu Yewang says: '葦 is a large 葭, a kind of reed.' The *Shuowen* says: '蘆 takes the semantic classifier 艸, 皿, and 𧆨 as phonetic component. 葦 also serves as phonetic.' 𧆨 is pronounced 魯 + 都 [*lú*], composed of 虎 and 𠙽; 𠙽 is pronounced 苦 + 外 [*kuài*]).
