違拒 (The upper character is pronounced 韋 [*wéi*]. The graph was originally written simply as 韋. The *Shuowen* says: 'To turn away from one another.' It takes 舛 as semantic classifier and 口 as phonetic component. The Stone Classics added 辵 to make 違. 舛 is pronounced 喘 [*chuǎn*]; 口 is pronounced 韋 [*wéi*]; 辵 is pronounced 丑 + 略 [*chuò*].
