𰆪禱（上伊琰反楚辭王逸注云厭也賈注國語合也說文厭苲也從厂厭聲也正作𥜒今從省下刀老反苞咸注論語云禱請也廣雅謝也請福於鬼神曰禱說文告事求福曰禱從示壽聲笮音責厂音罕也）。

𰆪禱 (The upper character is pronounced 伊 + 琰 [*yǎn*]. Wang Yi's commentary on the *Chuci* says: '𰆪 means to suppress (厭).' Jia [Kui]'s commentary on the *Guoyu* says: 'To join.' The *Shuowen* says: 'To suppress or crush.' It takes 厂 as semantic classifier and 厭 as phonetic component; properly written 𥜒, but now written in abbreviated form. The lower character is pronounced 刀 + 老 [*dǎo*]. Bao Xian's commentary on the *Analects* says: '禱 means to supplicate.' The *Guangya* says: 'To give thanks.' Praying for blessings from ghosts and spirits is called 禱. The *Shuowen* says: 'To report matters and seek blessings is called 禱.' It takes the semantic classifier 示 and 壽 as phonetic component. 笮 is pronounced 責 [*zé*]; 厂 is pronounced 罕 [*hǎn*]).
