風狂 (The upper character is pronounced 封. Yang Chengqing's preface to the Zitong says: 'Insects are generated by the wind, therefore the character 風 contains 虫.' The Shuowen says: 'The wind moves and insects are born, therefore insects transform in eight days; it derives from 虫 with 凡 as phonetic.' The lower character is pronounced 衢 + 王 fanqie. Gu Yewang says: 'Madness (狂) means foolish and startled.' Kong's commentary on the Lunyu says: 'Raving and striking against people; losing one's original mind.' The Shuowen writes it as [狂-王+(山/王)], meaning a rabid dog; a rabid dog is a mad dog; it derives from 犬 with 封 as phonetic. 騃 is pronounced 崖 + 解 fanqie; 悸 is pronounced 葵 + 季 fanqie; [狂-王+(山/王)] and 𡷅 are both pronounced 逵 + 王 fanqie; 狾 is pronounced 制).
