Windows and observatories (寮觀: [the first character is pronounced] liao [li + yao fan]. 寮 means a window. The Cangjie pian states: '寮 is a small aperture.' In the sūtra text it is sometimes written with hand (手) as 撩, or with wood (木) as 橑; both forms are inappropriate here).
