撾鑱（上竹瓜反字書云撾擊也聲類云撾撞也魏志撾折其脚說文從竹作𥬲云箠也下仕咸反淮南子云刻肌膚鑱皮革創流血埤蒼云鉏鑱頭也說文云銳銳也從金毚聲毚音上同）。

撾鑱 ("clubs and chisels"; the former character, fanqie: 竹 + 瓜. The Zishu says: "Zhua (撾) means to strike." The Shenglei says: "Zhua means to collide or batter." The Weizhi says: "Striking and breaking his leg." The Shuowen writes it with 竹 as 𥬲, saying: "It means a whip or rod." The latter character, fanqie: 仕 + 咸. The Huainanzi says: "Carving the flesh, piercing (鑱) the skin, causing wounds to bleed." The Picang says: "The tip of a spade or chisel." The Shuowen says: "Sharp and keen; it takes 金 as semantic and 毚 as phonetic"; 毚 is pronounced the same as above).
