20.77

繒綵（上牆蠅反說文云繒帛之總名也從糸曾聲下倉宰反尚書云以五綵彰施于五色考工記云五綵𠏆者謂之繡說文云從糸釆聲）。

繒綵 ("silks and colored fabrics"; the former character, fanqie: 牆 + 蠅. The Shuowen says: "Zeng (繒) is the general term for silk fabrics; it takes 糸 as semantic and 曾 as phonetic." The latter character, fanqie: 倉 + 宰. The Shangshu says: "Illuminating and displaying the five colors with the five variegated hues." The Kaogong ji says: "Arranging the five hues together is called embroidery." The Shuowen says: "It takes 糸 as semantic and 釆 as phonetic").
