破卵（卵於胤反言苦報盡處方顯滅諦故名滅諦為破卵有經本而云破卵卵盧管反謂由破於生死㲉卵顯得滅諦故也）。

Breaking the egg (*poluan*; *luan* has the *fanqie* onset *yu* and rhyme *yin*; it means that the truth of cessation is revealed only where the karmic retribution of suffering is exhausted; hence the truth of cessation is named 'breaking the egg'. Some sūtra editions pronounce *luan* with the *fanqie* onset *lu* and rhyme *guan*, meaning that the truth of cessation is attained through breaking the shell and egg of saṃsāra).
