菩提場中（菩提者此云覺也場者漢書音義曰築土而高曰壇除地平坦曰場斯皆神祇所遊止也場字有作場者謬也）。

In the Bodhimaṇḍa (Bodhi translates here as awakening. Regarding maṇḍa, the commentary on sounds and meanings in the *Hanshu* says: "Mounding earth to make it high is an altar; clearing the ground to make it flat is a field [*chang*]. These are both places where spiritual deities roam and abide." The character 場 written as 場 [with variant components] is erroneous).
