階砌戶牖（砌千計反牖以柳反玉篇曰階謂登堂之道即級道是也廣雅曰砌戺也謂即夾級道兩邊平墄砌石也說文云在屋曰窗在牆曰牖戺音仕）。

Steps, stone borders, doors, and windows (砌 is pronounced 千計; 牖 is pronounced 以柳. The *Yupian* states: "*Jie* refers to the pathway for ascending a hall, which is the stepped way." The *Guangya* states: "*Qi* means border stone [*shi*]," referring to the paved stone borders flanking both sides of the steps. The *Shuowen* says: "An opening in a roof is a window; one in a wall is a *you*." 戺 is pronounced 仕).
