瞋佷（佷何懇反杜注左傳曰佷戾也說文曰佷不聽從也案玉篇佷字在彳部今多從立人葢是時俗共行之）。

瞋佷 (Enraged and obstinate): 佷 (*hen*) is pronounced 何 (*he*) + 懇 (*ken*) [hěn]. Du's commentary on the *Zuo Zhuan* says: '佷 (*hen*) means perverse.' The *Shuowen* says: '佷 (*hen*) means refusing to obey.' In the *Yupian*, the character 佷 belongs under radical 彳, but now it is mostly written with radical 亻, following contemporary popular usage.
