牀褥（褥如欲反聲類日蓐薦也郭璞注爾雅曰蓐席也案古者薦席通稱謂之蓐也然今別有厚氈衣以表以裏亦謂之褥其字正宜從衣邊作辱也）。

Bed mattress (Ru [褥] is pronounced with the fanqie ru-yu [ru]. The Shenglei says: "Ru [蓐] means straw matting." Guo Pu's commentary on the Erya says: "Ru means mat." In ancient times, mats and bedding were commonly called ru [蓐]. However, now there are thick felt garments with outer fabric and lining which are also called ru [褥]; this character correctly takes the clothing radical beside ru [辱].)
