22.70

貢高（廣雅曰貢上也謂受貢上之國自恃尊高則輕易附庸之國今有自高陵物欲人賓伏者則亦謂之貢高）。

貢高 (Arrogant / self-aggrandizing): The *Guangya* says: '貢 (*gong*) means superior.' That is to say, states that receive tribute (*gong*) consider themselves exalted and despise their tributary states. Today, those who exalt themselves and look down on others, wishing to make people submit, are also called '貢高'.
