煢獨羸頓（煢渠營反孔安注書曰煢單也玉篇云無兄弟曰煢無子曰獨文字集略曰頓損也焭字又作惸嬛𡞦三體）。

煢獨羸頓 (Solitary, orphaned, emaciated and exhausted): 煢 (*qiong*) is pronounced 渠 (*qu*) + 營 (*ying*) [qióng]. Kong Anguo's commentary on the *Shangshu* says: '煢 (*qiong*) means solitary.' The *Yupian* says: 'Having no brothers is called 煢; having no sons is called 獨.' The *Wenwen jilüe* says: '頓 (*dun*) means worn down.' The character 焭 is also written in three forms: 惸, 嬛, and 𡞦.
