22.85

我身薄祜（祜胡古反鄭箋詩曰祜福也字冝從示邊作古經本有示邊作右者音尤救反孔子述易曰祐者助也案經本意明不具足身由薄福所致非關見在人天不助故不從右也）。

我身薄祜 (My person has meager blessings): 祜 (*hu*) is pronounced 胡 (*hu*) + 古 (*gu*) [hù]. Zheng's commentary on the *Shijing* says: '祜 (*hu*) means blessings.' The character should be written with the radical 示 beside 古. Some copies of the sūtra have 示 beside 右, pronounced 尤 (*you*) + 救 (*jiu*) [yòu]. Confucius in his exposition of the *Yijing* said: '祐 (*you*) means assistance.' According to the original meaning of the sūtra, it explains that an imperfect body is caused by meager blessings (*bohu*), unrelated to current lack of assistance from humans or devas; hence it should not be written with 右 (*you*).
