娑羅林（娑羅者此云高遠以其林木森端出於餘林之上也舊翻云堅固者誤由娑羅之與婆羅聲勢相近若呼堅固即轉舌言之若呼高遠直爾稱之耳也）。

Śāla grove [娑羅林] (śāla means here “high and lofty”; it is because the trees of this grove are lush, tall, and straight, surpassing other forests. The old translation “solid/firm” [dṛḍha] was an error resulting from the phonetic similarity between śāla and sāra; when saying “firm” one rolls the tongue [sāra], whereas when saying “high and lofty” one pronounces it directly [śāla]).
