海嶋（嶋當老反孔安注書曰海曲謂之嶋說文曰海中往往有山可止曰嶋也）。

海嶋 [Sea island] (嶋 is pronounced 當 [dāng] + 老 [lǎo] fanqie [dǎo]. Kong Anguo's commentary on the Shangshu states: 'A bend in the sea is called an island.' The Shuowen states: 'Hills in the midst of the sea where one can alight are called islands.').
