23.64

頑佷（很何墾反左氏傳曰心不則德義之經曰頑也杜注左傳曰佷戾也說文曰佷不任從也佷字正體從彳今從亻者俗也）。

Perverse and intractable (頑佷: 佷 is read 何 + 墾 fanqie. The Zuozhuan says: 'A mind that does not conform to the standards of virtue and righteousness is called stubborn (頑).' Du Yu's commentary on the Zuozhuan says: '佷 means perverse.' The Shuowen says: '佷 means unwilling to comply.' The standard form of 佷 is with the 彳 radical; writing it with 亻 nowadays is vulgar).
