長短（端卵反蒼頡篇云短促也說文云有所短長以矢為正從矢豆聲文字集略或從手作梪與經本同或從寸作𭔰俗字也）。

長短 (The second character has the fanqie 端卵 [d- + -uǎn = duǎn]. The Cangjie pian says: '短 means brief or short.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Where there is brevity or length, an arrow is taken as the standard of measure; it takes 矢 and 豆 as phonetic.' The Wenzi jilüe records that it is sometimes written with hand [classifier] as 梪, which is identical with the sūtra text, or with 寸 as 𭔰, which is a vulgar form).
