苷蔗（上音甘下之夜反本草云能下氣治中利大膓止渴去煩熱解酒毒說文蔗藷也從艸庶聲苷或作甘也）。

Sugarcane (苷蔗) (The upper character has the sound gan [gān]; the lower character has the fanqie Zhi + Ye [zhè]. The Bencao states: "It can direct qi downward, treat the middle burner, benefit the large intestine, quench thirst, eliminate dysphoria and heat, and neutralize alcohol toxicity." The Shuowen states: "蔗 is sugar cane; derived from the grass radical 艸 with 庶 phonetic." 苷 is also written 甘).
