螽蟲（上視隆反杜註左傳云螽謂蚣蝑之屬為災蟲也說文螽亦蝗類也從䖵冬聲下直隆反爾雅云有足曰蟲無足曰豸說文蟲從三虫蜙音仙恭反蝑音胥䖵音昆虫音暉鬼反）。

Insects and pests (螽蟲) (The upper character has the fanqie Shi + Long [zhōng]. Du's commentary on the Zuozhuan states: "螽 refers to katydids and the like, which are pest insects." The Shuowen states: "The 螽 is also a type of locust; derived from 䖵 with 冬 phonetic." The lower character has the fanqie Zhi + Long [chóng]. The Erya states: "Those with feet are called chóng (蟲); those without feet are called zhì (豸)." The Shuowen states: "蟲 is composed of three 虫." 蜙 has the fanqie Xian + Gong [sōng]; 蝑 has the sound xu [xū]; 䖵 has the sound kun [kūn]; 虫 has the fanqie Hui + Gui [huǐ]).
