躑䠱（上呈戟反下厨錄反顧野王云躑躅舉足而不進也說文注足也一云踦也並從足鄭屬皆聲也亦作躅經作䠱俗字也）。

Hesitating and pacing (the first character is *cheng* + *ji* [zhí]; the second is *chu* + *lu* [zhú]. Gu Yewang says: "*Zhizhu* means lifting the foot without advancing." The Shuowen says: "Halting the foot; another says limping." Both are categorized under 'foot' [足] with *zheng* [鄭] and *shu* [屬] phonetic. It is also written as 躅. The sūtra's spelling䠱 is a vulgar variant).
