Defying and opposing (the second character is *wu* + *gu* [wù]. Guo's commentary on the Fangyan says: "It means colliding and opposing." The Kaosheng and the Shuowen state: "To disobey; categorized under 'heart' [心] with *wu* [午] phonetic").
