24.66

𭫮穢（上分問反顧野王云凡不絜穢污之物謂之糞也說文棄除也廾推華棄米宮傳說似米而非米有矢字也華音般箕屬也所以推棄糞之器象形也矢音始乃古文屎字也推音退雷反屎亦音始亦作糞經從土從異作𡐢不成也）。

Fènwèi 𭫮穢 (The upper character is fanqie 分問 [fèn]. Gu Yewang says: 'Whatever is unclean, soiled, and filthy is called fèn 糞 [dung]'. The Shuowen jiezi says: 'to discard and remove; using hands (廾) to push away a dustpan to discard rice; the palace tradition explains that it resembles rice but is not rice, having the character shǐ 矢 [excrement]'. Huā 華 means a winnowing basket or scoop, the implement used to discard dung, which is a pictograph. Shǐ 矢 is pronounced shǐ 始, being the ancient character for shǐ 屎. Tuī 推 is fanqie 退雷 [tuī]. Shǐ 屎 is also pronounced shǐ 始; it is also written 糞. In the sūtra it is written with radical tǔ 土 and yì 異 as 𡐢, which does not form a proper character).
