偃蹇（上焉㦥反下居偃反杜註左傳云偃蹇憍傲也說文偃僵也從人匽聲蹇從足從謇省聲匽音同上也）。

Yǎnjiǎn 偃蹇 (The upper character is fanqie 焉㦥 [yǎn]. The lower character is fanqie 居偃 [jiǎn]. Du's commentary on the Zuo zhuan says: 'yǎnjiǎn 偃蹇 means arrogant'. The Shuowen jiezi says: 'yǎn 偃 means lying stiffly on the back; with radical rén 人 and yǎn 匽 phonetic. Jiǎn 蹇 has radical zú 足 and the abbreviated phonetic jiǎn 謇; yǎn 匽 has the same sound as above').
