壽命（上時九反又音時右反說文壽久也命也內釋云壽即分限也命是連持如來壽命依無垢識種上而建立壽即命也）。

'Lifespan' [āyuḥ] (The first character has the fanqie shi + jiu [shòu], and is also pronounced shi + you. The Shuowen says: 'Shou means enduring; it means life.' In the inner Buddhist exposition: shou is the allotted span; ming is what sustains it continuously. The Tathāgata's lifespan is established upon the seed of the immaculate consciousness; lifespan is life itself).
