金篦(閉迷反按荀楷誥幼文字宜作篦相承且用也經文有作錍依撿玉篇音普蹄反薄箭也非經義耳經文作椑非也音卑果名也即椑柹也經又有作琕非也是琕珠字音毘延反)。

Gold probe (金篦: [篦 is] bi + mi fanqie. According to Xun Kai's Gaoyou wenzi, it is properly written as 篦, and it has been handed down and used in this way. In sūtra texts it is sometimes written as 錍; upon checking the Yupian, it has the sound pu + ti fanqie, meaning a thin arrowhead, which is not the meaning intended by the sūtra. In sūtra texts it is also written as 椑, which is incorrect; it is pronounced bei, the name of a fruit, namely the persimmon (beishi). In sūtra texts it is also written as 琕, which is also incorrect; this is the character for the pin pearl, pronounced pi + yan fanqie).
