Integration and mastery (the first character is pronounced 子 + 宋 in fanqie; the Sancang says: "Zong means to regulate"; this refers to the loom threads holding the silk, the pattern wefts guiding the warps so that they open, close, and form patterns; study and practice are likewise: effort is manifested and skill is achieved).
