大般涅槃經壽命品第一（慧琳云雲公所製言雖繁[宋-木+儿]有似章疏今取周備不失經意由勝諸家所音此後南本涅槃三十六卷同用此音音義依雲公所製唯陀羅尼及論梵字疎遠不切者慧琳今再依梵本翻譯為正覽者詳焉也）

Mahāparinirvāṇa-sūtra, Chapter 1: Lifespan (Huilin remarks: Although the text composed by Master Yun is verbose and slightly resembles an exegetical commentary, we now retain its thoroughness since it does not lose the sūtra's intent and is superior to the glosses of other masters. Hereafter, the thirty-six fascicles of the Southern Version of the Nirvāṇa-sūtra will share these glosses. For the sounds and meanings, we follow what was composed by Master Yun; only for the dhāraṇīs and where discussions of Sanskrit letters are distant and inaccurate, Huilin has now retranslated and corrected them based on the Sanskrit texts, as the reader will perceive).
