沙門（梵語也此云勤勞內道外道之總名也皆據出家為言耳古經為桑門或為娑門羅什法師以言非便𢎿為沙門也）。

Śramaṇa (a Sanskrit term, here translated as “striving diligently”; it is a general term for both internal and external paths, all spoken of in terms of home-departure; in ancient sūtras it was written as sāngmén or suōmén; Master Kumārajīva found the wording clumsy and changed it to shāmén).
