孚乳（上撫夫反通俗文云卵化曰孚又孚字從爪從子此會意字也下而主反又卵生者為孚胎生者為乳故說文從孚從乙乙者像乳流出也乙音殷訖反）。

Brooding and suckling (The first character [fú, 孚] has the fanqie fu + fu; the Tongsuwen says: "Hatching from an egg is called fú." Furthermore, the character fú is composed of zhǎo [claw/hand] and zǐ [child]; it is an ideogrammic compound. The second character [rǔ, 乳] has the fanqie er + zhu. Moreover, egg-born creatures are fú; womb-born creatures are rǔ. Hence the Shuowen states it is composed of fú and yǐ; yǐ depicts milk flowing forth; yǐ has the fanqie yin + qi).
