毛纛（同僕反集訓云形如竿用羽飾之軍中為表也蔡邕獨斷云纛者以𣯛牛尾為之大如斗在最左騑頭上也古今正字從緜毒聲毒字從屮經從縣作纛俗字屮音丑列反）。

毛纛 (Pronounced the same as 僕 with the fanqie [dú/dào]. The Jixun says: "Shaped like a pole and decorated with feathers, it serves as an insignia in the army." Cai Yong's Duduan says: "A dào is made of yak tail, as large as a dou measure, placed above the head of the outermost left carriage horse." The Gujin zhengzi says it is derived from 緜 with 毒 phonetic; the character 毒 has the 屮 component. In the sūtra text it is written as 纛 with 縣, which is a vulgar character. 屮 is pronounced with the fanqie 丑列 [chè]).
