馬瑙（遏濕摩揭婆此云杵藏遏濕摩杵義揭婆藏義或言胎取其堅實言馬瑙者色如馬腦故也諸書作瑪𰢐字者玉類故也或作碼𥖋字石之類也）。

Agate (manao): (Aśmagarbha; here translated as 'pestle-womb/treasure'. Aśma means pestle, garbha means womb or treasure, or it is called embryo, taking the meaning of its solidity. It is called manao because its color resembles a horse's brain [manao]. Various books write it with the characters 瑪𰢐 because it belongs to the jade class, or write it with 碼𥖋 as it belongs to the stone class).
