沙門（止息義以得法故暫寧息諸惡也故或言㗌羅摩拏或㗌摩那拏此云功勞謂修道有功勞也）。
Śramaṇa (沙門): Meaning "putting to rest"; because one has attained the Dharma, one temporarily puts all evils to rest. Hence also pronounced śramaṇa or śramaṇera; translated here as "meritorious toil", meaning that one incurs meritorious toil in cultivating the path.
