猶豫（上弋周反下弋庶反說文隴西謂犬子為猶猶性多疑豫在人前故凡不決者謂之猶豫與狐疑同尒雅云猶如麂善登木郭璞健上樹也麂居履反也）。

Hesitation (猶豫): The upper character is yizhou [fanqie]; the lower is yishu [fanqie]. The Shuowen says: "In Longxi, puppies are called you (猶). The nature of the you is full of suspicion; yu (豫) is always ahead of people. Therefore, all indecisiveness is called youyu, synonymous with fox-like doubt (huyi)." The Erya says: "The you is like a barking deer, good at climbing trees." Guo Pu says: "Vigorously climbs trees." Barking deer (ji 麂) has the fanqie juli.
