不豫（余據反入也安也切韻逸作豫古文與同爾雅逮及與也左傳云公必與焉亦為預先辦也𬾨也早也）。

Not participating (豫: *yu-kjo* [fanqie: 余據], to enter, to be at peace. The Qieyun takes 逸 to mean 豫; in ancient script it is identical with 與. The Erya says: '逮, 及, and 與 all mean to take part in.' The Zuozhuan states: 'The Duke must participate (與) in it.' It also serves as 預, meaning to prepare beforehand, to make ready, or early).
