告喻 (Instruct and enlighten; [yù has the fanqie] yú-jù. The Analects says: "The gentleman is conversant (yù) with righteousness; the petty person is conversant with gain." Kong Anguo says: "Yù means to make understand." The Cangjiepian says: "Yù means to illustrate by metaphor and remonstrate." The Shuowen writes it as 諭).
