Grapes (蒲萄: [the second character is pronounced with the fanqie] 徒刀 [táo]. The Bowuzhi says: when Zhang Qian was sent on a mission to the Western Regions, on his return he obtained pomegranates, walnuts, and grapes. The Guangya says: grapes have three kinds—white, black, and purple; 萄, 桃, and 陶 are all acceptable).
