Mounds and pits (丘坃: the Shuowen says: a *qiu* is an elevated mound of earth, not made by humans; another explanation says: that which is high on all four sides and sunken in the middle is called a *qiu*. The Yupian says: high ground is called a *qiu*; a large burial mound is called a *qiu*. In ancient script, *qiu* is written [like] earth).
