果蓏（郎果反有作瓜音讀避俗玉篇云果謂桃李之屬蓏謂爪瓞之類又有核曰果無核曰蓏又木實曰果草實曰蓏又木上曰果地上曰蓏瓞音徒結反）。

果蓏 (Fanqie [l- + g- = luǒ]; some write 瓜, reading it to avoid colloquial forms; Yupian says: "Tree fruit refers to things like peaches and plums; herbaceous fruits (蓏) refers to melons and small gourds; also, those with pits are 果, those without pits are 蓏; tree fruits are 果, grass fruits are 蓏; fruits on trees are 果, fruits on the ground are 蓏"; 瓞 is fanqie [t- + j- = dié]).
